This is a printed book issued by the British Treasury: Code of regulations and instructions for conducting the duties of the Commissariat Department; revised and Consolidated. London, W. Clowes (Printer), 1845.

The book contains detailed regulations under the following headings: 1. Constitution and Emoluments; 2. General Duties; 3. Cash; 4. Stores and Provisions; 5. Accounts; 6. Periodical Documents; and 7. Appendix.

Inside the front cover is written "Depy. A. Gen Mitchell. Accounts Department, Sydney - 1846". Blank pages have been interleaved in the binding, and many of them have been used by an officer of the Commissariat to copy additional regulations and instructions received between 1846 and 1850.

The book has a printed index.
