An additional function of the Sheriff was to act as Deputy Marshal of the High Court of Australia. His duties in this capacity were similar to those as Sheriff of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He also acted as Deputy Marshal of the Admiralty Jurisdiction of the High Court.

These records are examples of these functions and include writs of execution, such as Fieri facias and Habere facias, imposed by a judgment handed down by the High Court and warrants of attachment served on ships by order of the Admiralty Court. An order for release was usually later issued by the Admiralty Registrar upon application by the owner's solicitors. The warrants of attachment and release are both contained in the one document.
