Full description
These are registers of correspondence received by the Estate Branch. They give: progressive correspondence number; papers; date of letter; date of registration; from whom; residence; nature of communication; to whom and when referred; and remarks or results. These volumes are arranged alphabetically by subject of the letter and there is an index to subject headings at the front of each alphabetical section. The index gives a brief summary of the correspondence and usually the letter number and the page reference (eg. 8927/513; 8927 is the registered number and 513 is the page reference).
Blocks of numbers are allocated to subject headings or place names (eg. in volume 7/15521 the subject Automatic Machines is allocated nos. 151-200, and the place name Dubbo is allocated nos. 1150-1200). Consequently not all the numbers are used.
(7/15503-21). 19 vols.
