Full description

This series comprises preliminary reports on the estimates, Drafts 1-4 of the Review of Estimates, and detailed breakdowns of costs involved in various stages of the construction of the Sydney Opera House.

In addition, carbon copies of notes of discussions with Mr Jørn Utzon, Architect, on the estimates and his relationship with the liaison architect and departmental officials are included.

Copies of press statements issued and copies of letters sent to Mr Jørn Utzon in relation to the cost are also included as are drafts of notes on matters raised at the conference with the Minister for Public Works on 16 June 1964; a copy of a confidential annexure to Report to Cabinet on Construction Progress; and notes taken during interviews with key personnel involved in construction of the Opera House.
