The first volume (1818) records for men: name, ship from Europe, master of ship, when and where convicted, sentence, on or off stores, remarks. If the person came free or was born in the colony this is included. For women the information recorded is merely name or on or off stores. For children the name of parents and number of children on or off stores is given. The second volume (1819) is similar with occasional additional information.

The information noted is name, ship of arrival, master of ship, when and where tried, sentence, on or off the stores, and employment.
Civil officers and free persons at Port Dalrymple, 1819 (4/1235.6; microfilm copy SR Reel 1254).
Names are grouped under the headings: Men, Wives of civil officers, settlers and free people, and Children of free people. Besides names are recorded ship came on, master of ship, when and where sentenced, on or off stores, remarks. The remarks column indicates whether came free, born at Norfolk Island, free by servitude etc. when appropriate. In the case of children, age and whether on or off stores is given.

The volumes are divided into free and convict. Within these the order is males, females and children. For males and females, name, ship came in from Europe, master of ship, when and where tried, sentence, on or off stores, and remarks are given. For females the remarks column gives the husband's name where appropriate, and for both whether came free or born in the colony is indicated where necessary.
The second volume also notes whether a convict held a ticket of leave, a conditional pardon or an absolute pardon.
