Full description

These statements define the duties of an officer in detail as well as giving personal details - name, marital status, age, whether a returned soldier or not, whether permanent or temporary, salary, division, designation, date of birth as well as qualifications, examinations passed and details of previous positions occupied.

Statements of duties are used by the Board to assist in selection and placement and as a basis for the evaluation of a position and a guide to salary-fixing. They help show the precise relationship of one officer to another, provide information required for the design of training courses and conducting an organization and methods survey.

The statements of duty for 1933-40 are arranged in a rough alphabetical sequence by name of officer while those of 1910-11 are arranged by department and those of Dec 1940-c.Feb 1941 are arranged by department and establishment code.
