The first 28 folios of this volume record entries for women in the Female Factory (both lunatics and invalids) who remained on the premises after the Factory was closed and the buildings appropriated for the Convict Lunatic and Invalid Establishment. A number of the women had been physically and/or mentally ill for many years, with some having previously been inmates of the Castle Hill, Liverpool or Tarban Creek Lunatic Asylums.
