The Women's Advisory Council was established by the Premier in 1976. The role of the Council is to promote equality of opportunity for women in New South Wales, to advise the Premier on matters concerning women, to raise community awareness on the situation of women, and to support and develop programmes for women. The Council can also make public comments on any issues of concern to women and on aspects of government policy or proposed legislation having or likely to have an impact on women.This series contains meeting papers and minutes of both the Executive and the General Meetings of the Women's Advisory Council.
