These files consist of correspondence concerning major policy and other matters such as: special area assistance schemes for the Illawarra, Hunter, and Western Sydney regions; Darling Harbour Development including the monorail; mine and factory closures; requests from companies for financial assistance; representations from companies for discounts from particular State charges, such as electricity tariffs; requests for exemption from payroll tax; proposed major controversial developments; co-operative ventures with the People's Republic of China; major re-organisations within the Office; Commonwealth/State relations; and correspondence concerning the Manufacturing Industries Advisory Council.
Included in this series (at 12/11864.2-11871) are files which were registered centrally in the Premier's Department correspondence system between 1974 and 1984 but which were extracted, used and held separately by the Office of State Development.
