The files also contain reports by park rangers concerning infringements such as vandalism, unauthorised possession of flora and fauna, and firearms offences.All files in this series feature an 'A' prefix plus a running number or a '1992/A' prefix plus a running number. A significant quantity of files were top numbered in 1992 with the year prefix '1992/'.This series is one of six series of functional correspondence files using a prefix plus sequential numbering in use during the period 1967-2001. This series consists of administrative files produced by the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS). The files document and provide evidence of common administrative actions undertaken by the NPWS and provide evidence of decision making processes within the agency.

The files deal with a wide range of administrative, personnel, accounting and policy matters. Some files contain correspondence dating back to 1832, which was received and sent by the Fauna Protection Panel of the Chief Secretary's Department.
