Full description

Letters received by Henry Browne relating to his position of mining engineer and manager of the mining company. They comprise letters from the Directors and shareholders concerning the transfer of shares; requests for progress reports of work in the mine; payments for calls on shares; possible buyers of the company and tenders for work in the mine. There are also letters from the Department of Mines concerning registration of the company and from the Registrar General requesting information about the company as well as from private companies putting forward tenders.

Among the papers of the company are share certificates, a list of shareholders stating number of shares held, address and occupation, miner's right certificate, proxy voting authorities, a report to the Chairman and Board of Directors by Henry Browne concerning a plan for the improvement of the working of the mine and its value as well as an offer for the purchase of the mine.

The receipt books for share calls include some completed butts stating shareholder's name, number of shares owned, amount and number of call and the sum paid by the shareholder for the call on shares.
