The papers at 5/3248.4 include the Mining Assessors Roll for 1896 showing name and residence of each assessor; various printed circulars from the Mines Department and public notices concerning rent due on leases to be posted outside Warden's Clerk Office; various memoranda from Mines Department notifying the Warden's Clerk of prospecting aid granted to persons within the mining division stating amount of aid; to whom and purpose for which aid has been granted; in-letters of the Warden's Clerk concerning requests for advice about mining regulations and other local mining affairs.Those at 5/3249.3 include applications for: mining tenements, survey of claims, an extended claim, abandoned shares or tenements, amalgamation of claims, dam or reservoir; reports of new discovery of gold; authority to act as agent forms; mining agreements; and miscellaneous correspondence of the Mining Registrar relating to mining in the district.
