The Northeast Tasmania bathymetry survey was led by Dr. Scott Nichol (Geoscience Australia). The survey was conducted to broadly classify the seabed into hard (bedrock reef), soft (sedimentary) and mixed substrate types at select locations across the Northeast Tasmanian shelf. This dataset contains a 2m-resolution, 32-bit floating point GeoTIFF file of the bathymetry in the study area derived from the processed EM3002 bathymetry data, using CARIS HIPS and SIPS software. A new Caris project was created in conjuction with existing or newly created vessel configuration file(s). 2. Tide with reference to the EGM2008 vertical datum were imported. 3. An auto-resolution Swath Angle was generated as a reference surface for data cleaning. 4. Surface was georefenced to EGM2008 and WGS84 (merged). 5. An automated data cleaning was undertaken using a surface cleaning method that utilises the reference surface. 6. Further manual cleaning was conducted as required after visual assessment of the auto-cleaned surface. 7. The final grid was produced at a resolution nearest the banded depth resolution based on the auto-resolution estimate provided in Caris. 8. The final processed grid was exported as seven 32-bit floating point Geotiff files at 2m resolution referenced to EGM2008.
