NESP CS Project 2.5 - Regional climate change guidance for local action

Research Project

Researchers: Andrew Dowdy (Principal investigator, Principal or Chief Investigator) ,  Hamish Ramsay (Principal investigator, Principal or Chief Investigator) ,  Jason Evans (Principal investigator, Principal or Chief Investigator)

Full description Improving our understanding of regional climate hazards and extremes. Decision-makers need reliable localised climate information to prepare for future hazards and extremes. Extreme rainfall, extreme wind, and extreme heat (including fire weather) significantly impact Australia but these are some of the most complex events to model and predict. This project is increasing our confidence in projected changes to these extremes using the best available science and by testing new methodologies. From this work, we are improving the way we apply projections to understand the impacts of these extremes on human and natural systems.
