Brief description Periodontitis is a prevalent dental condition that often leads to premature tooth loss. This project investigates the regenerative potential of periodontal ligament stem cells. It aims to identify novel markers to facilitate the isolation of these cells and to elucidate key factors and mechanisms for periodontal regeneration to occur. These findings will help to improve the predictability of current regenerative therapies and develop a successful treatment strategy for periodontitis.
