Brief description

This data set contains the imagery collected on the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage IN2018_V06, titled "Status and recovery of deep-sea coral communities on seamounts in iconic Australian marine reserves". The voyage took place from Hobart (TAS) to Hobart between November 23 and December 19, 2018, collecting imagery of benthic habitats of the southern Tasmanian seamounts and the adjacent slope in and outside of the Huon and the Tasman Fracture Marine Parks, and off eastern Tasmania.

This is a demonstration version of the data set created with the public towed camera marimba pipeline, a more complete version of the data processed through the CSIRO internal pipeline will be published through the DAP.

Instrument(s) used to collect this data:
MRI Towed camera (MRITC)

Datasets include:
Video (oblique forward view)
Stereo stills (oblique forward view)
Navigational data

Lineage: The imagery was collected using the CSIRO 'Marine Resources and Industry' developed Towed camera (MRITC) system that simultaneously collects oblique forward-facing video (camera: SVY) and stereo still images (cameras SCP (port) and SCS (starboard)). Calibration of the stereo cameras was done in SEAGIS software and can be made available upon request.
For some operations no still imagery is included, due to gear issues.

The imagery was processed with Marimba v1.0.0 (https://github.com/csiro-fair/marimba) using the Image Digitization Pipeline (https://github.com/csiro-fair/towed-camera-pipeline)

File naming convention: CameraPlatform_Camera_Survey_Deployment_YYYYMMDDTHHMMSSZ_image#
GIS location of the camera system, and depth (as positive 'altitude') was added to the EXIF data of still images. In addition, camera location data at 1-second intervals for video and by image-pair for stills are provided in .csv format.
