In May 2009, Petratherm conducted a magnetotelluric survey across tenement GEL 241, Renmark. Petratherm Limited being the holder of tenements GEL 241 and 242. The tenement is located 5km northwest of Renmark, within the Calperum pastoral lease, South Australia. The magnetotelluric (MT) survey was successfully conducted on GEL 241 from the 19th May to the 27th May 2009. Twenty-five MT sites were recorded along two parallel transects giving a total survey distance of 73.8km. The data acquisition was contracted to University of Adelaide for the purpose of undergraduate research.
