The deployment improves spatial resolution relative to existing datasets and provides enhanced constraints on the three-dimensional electrical structure of the lithosphere. This collection represents the Victorian component of the 2019 Newer Volcanic Province MT survey. Together with the companion South Australian collection, it provides a broadband MT dataset suitable for investigating lithospheric structure and geodynamic processes beneath the Newer Volcanic Province and for integration with regional geophysical datasets. This collection contains the Victorian component of that survey. Field acquisition was conducted in August 2019 using a regular grid configuration designed to infill and enhance existing regional MT coverage from the AusLAMP program and earlier state-based surveys. The broader survey comprised 54 unique MT station locations, including 23 sites located within Victoria. A continuously recording remote-reference station was operated within South Australia for the duration of the survey. Field acquisition employed LEMI-423 broadband magnetotelluric systems hosted by the University of Adelaide and accessed through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facility for Earth Sounding. The instrumentation was acquired through a combination of Geological Survey of South Australia and AuScope NCRIS funding. Continued availability of the instrumentation pool is supported through ongoing NCRIS investment via AuScope, including maintenance, calibration, refurbishment, and operational management activities. AuScope is supported by the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). Data acquisition within Victoria was funded by Adelaide University.
