The dataset contains frequency-domain MT transfer functions and response estimates generated following quality control and robust MT processing of survey observations acquired during both field campaigns. Transfer functions are provided in EDI format and represent interpretation-ready datasets suitable for geophysical interpretation, two- and three-dimensional inversion, and regional-scale analysis of crustal and upper-lithospheric electrical structure. These products support quantitative modelling and comparative analysis of electrical resistivity structure within the Kapunda region. Lineage

This dataset comprises Level 2 magnetotelluric (MT) data products derived from broadband MT observations acquired during the Kapunda MT survey conducted in South Australia in 2019 and 2020. Raw time-series data were subjected to quality-control procedures to identify and remove contaminated, noisy, or otherwise unsuitable data segments prior to frequency-domain processing. Magnetotelluric transfer functions and response estimates were generated using robust frequency-domain processing workflows, including remote-reference techniques where suitable reference data were available. For survey sites where raw time-series data are archived within the corresponding raw time-series collection, Level 2 products are directly traceable to those observations. For additional contractor-acquired sites where raw time-series data are not available within this archive, Level 2 response products were incorporated following validation and consistency assessment against the broader survey dataset. The resulting transfer functions are provided in EDI format and represent interpretation-ready MT data products suitable for subsequent inversion, interpretation, and regional-scale analysis of crustal and upper-lithospheric electrical structure. Processing parameters, workflow descriptions, software versions, and processing assumptions are documented in the accompanying README file. This dataset constitutes the authoritative Level 2 archive of processed MT transfer functions derived from the Kapunda MT survey.
