Broadband magnetotelluric (MT) data were acquired across the Kalkaroo Cu-Au deposit and surrounding Kalkaroo magnetic dome within the Curnamona Province, South Australia, between November 2020 and August 2021 to investigate subsurface electrical conductivity structure associated with mineralisation and regional geological architecture. The survey comprised multiple acquisition campaigns employing a combination of broadband and ultra-wideband MT instrumentation. High-resolution MT measurements were acquired across the Kalkaroo Cu-Au deposit using a dense grid comprising approximately 126 sites with nominal spacing of 300 m. Broader regional coverage of the surrounding Kalkaroo magnetic dome was achieved using an additional grid of approximately 104 sites with nominal spacing of 1.2 km. Field acquisition employed instrumentation operated by Geoscience Australia and the University of Adelaide, including Phoenix MTU-8A, Phoenix MTU-5C, and LEMI-423 systems. Parallel instrument comparison tests and remote-reference deployments were incorporated into the survey design to support data quality assessment and processing. This collection provides a broadband MT dataset suitable for high-resolution investigation of electrical resistivity structure associated with the Kalkaroo Cu-Au deposit and for regional-scale analysis of the surrounding Curnamona Province.Credit

University of Adelaide instrumentation was accessed through the AuScope - ANSIR Research Facility for Earth Sounding. The University of Adelaide instrument pool was acquired through AuScope funding provided under the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). Continued availability of the ANSIR instrumentation pool is supported through ongoing NCRIS investment via AuScope, including maintenance, calibration, refurbishment, and operational management activities.
