Full description Viral infections represent a significant global health issue and for many viruses, we still don’t have effective therapeutics. We showed that lipid droplets (LDs), produced by the host during viral infection underpin a successful innate immune response. This research program aims to better understand how LDs are secreted and how we can use them to combat viral infections. This will lead to the development of more effective antiviral treatments, relieving the rising burden of infectious diseases.
