Brief description Harnessing Motivation Science to Optimise Wellbeing Programs for Aged Care. This project aims to discover how motivation science can be used to increase engagement of older people with exercise programs within residential aged care. We plan to generate new knowledge about how individual motivators impact engagement, adherence, and benefit, to inform design of innovative programs that meet multiple needs. Expected outcomes include knowledge, resources, and training to help aged care providers deliver personalised evidence-based programs. By understanding motivations that drive older people—especially those at-risk of isolation and disengagement—our research supports industry providers in improving the physical, psychological, and social wellbeing of older Australians in residential aged care.
