Brief description Scaling up evidence-based programs through teacher professional development. Teacher professional development programs continue to proliferate, with little evidence on what features of these drive improved educational outcomes for children. Is online training as effective as face to face? This project will study an existing evidence-based early childhood program in a multi-arm trial, generating new knowledge on the most effective ways to scale such programs through professional development. Expected outcomes include clear, context-aligned guidelines on teacher professional development modalities for best impact. Significant benefits will include enhanced return on investment for government and private funders of teacher professional development, delivered in terms of stronger outcomes for children.
