Full description

We designed two experiments to investigate how the human visual system balances sensitivity to face-like structures with selectivity for genuine faces in complex visual scenes. This dataset is one of two associated datasets from the project: the present dataset contains the stimuli and analysis code, while the companion dataset contains the collected research data. The present dataset includes behavioural and EEG recordings from 20 participants in Experiment 1 and 30 participants in Experiment 2. The stimuli comprise 120 images selected from the Wild Faces database, 60 food images, and 60 illusory face images. The code consists of all custom scripts developed to perform paired-samples t-test, time-resolved decoding analyses, and neural-behavioural correlation analyses.
