Brief description
Digital video recordings of Kafoa language data, their transcriptions and translations in Alor Malay or Indonesian and English, in notebooks and Toolbox files. Texts include a list of brideprice items, historical narratives, folk stories, and data collected as a part of a survey consisting of a word list, elicited sentences and Mercer Meyer's "The Frog Story". Materials were collected on fieldwork trips in 2003 and 2004. The materials collected in 2003 were a part of a survey of the languages of West Alor. The materials collected in 2004 were collected opportunistically, while undertaking fieldwork into the neighbouring language of Klon. All data was recorded in the hamlet of Habollat. Written materials: NB Notebook. One notebook was used in 2004 to collect elicited data, and transcribe, gloss and translate the video recorded texts. Blank pages were not included in the collection. ABK Alor Books. The ‘Alor Books’ are handwritten notebooks containing survey data from 2003. The numbering of notebooks is based on the number assigned to the physical notebook. Blank pages were not included in the collection.Created: 03 12 2015
