Brief description
This dataset contains Sea Surface Temperature (SST) underway observations collected on trips of a merchant vessel Iron Yandi (callsign VNVR). Bulk SST is measured by SBE48 hull contact sensor. The sensor is installed in the engine compartment and its depth is varied from 1 to 10 meters (depending on loading of vessel). SST data (along with meteorological data from ship AWS) are instantaneous, collected every 1 hour. The data are quality controlled by the Bureau of Meteorology. The daily data files are available from eMII shortly after 0000 UTC.Notes
CreditAustralia’s Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS) is enabled by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS). It is operated by a consortium of institutions as an unincorporated joint venture, with the University of Tasmania as Lead Agent.
