Full description

This data set contains the imagery collected on the Marine National Facility (MNF) RV Investigator voyage IN2024_V05, titled "Multi-year: Untangling the causes of change over 25 years in the southeast marine ecosystem (SEA-MES Voyage 3)." The voyage took place between November 13, 2024 and December 12, 2024 (AEST), departing from Hobart and returning to Hobart, collecting imagery of benthic habitats together with oceanographic data.

Instrument(s) used to collect this data:
MNF Deep Towed camera (DTC)

Datasets include:
Video (oblique forward view)
Stereo stills (oblique forward view)
Navigational data

Lineage

Maintenance and Update Frequency: asNeeded
Statement: The imagery was collected using the MNF Deep Towed camera (DTC) system that simultaneously collects oblique forward-facing video (camera: SVY) and stereo still images (cameras SCP (port) and SCS (starboard)). Calibration of the stereo cameras was done in SEAGIS software and can be made available upon request. The imagery was processed with Marimba v1.1.0. [https://github.com/csiro-fair/marimba] File naming convention: CameraPlatform_Camera_Survey_Deployment_YYYYMMDDTHHMMSSZ_image# GIS location of the camera system, and depth (as positive 'altitude') was added to the EXIF data of still images. In addition, camera location data at 1-second intervals for video and by image-pair for stills are provided in .csv format.
