These registers contain a summary record of all the Homestead Farm tenures in the Land District of Grafton, kept by the Grafton Lands Office.

The Homestead Farm tenure was introduced in 1912. Upon compliance with conditions, such as fencing the external boundaries of the land, a perpetual lease grant could be issued to the lessee. The lessee was subject to the payment of a half-yearly rent but, during the first five years, the lessee could expend an equal sum on improvements.
