With approximately 399 leaf-inhabiting fungi, including 14 types, the Harry J Swart Collection makes a significant contribution to mycology within Australia. There are many isotype specimens in the collection, whose holotypes are lodged at the New South Wales Plant Pathology Herbarium. The collection also includes detailed illustrations and microscope slides of many of the specimens, as well as three accompanying folders of illustrations and descriptive notes made by Swart on the fungi at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, UK.
