Brief description

Groundwater recharge zones are the areas where water can enter the various aquifers that make up the GAB. The spatial extents of the recharge zones shown are defined by a combination of the outcrop extents, of the various aquifer units, and interpolation between outcrops in cases where the units are covered by a thin veneer of alluvial deposits.

This dataset and associated metadata can be obtained from www.ga.gov.au, using catalogue number 81687.
