Brief description
Ginan is Geoscience Australia’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) analysis centre software that delivers a real-time positioning correction service through an open-source software, and additional positioning products to enable precise point positioning for Australian industry and users.Lineage

Statement: In 2018, a version (1.0) of the position estimation algorithm (PEA) and precise orbit determination (POD) components have been delivered. Following this, a five-year development plan was prepared which set out a strategy to build, validate and implement additional capabilities of the software.
The first operational version of the Analysis Centre Software (ACS), now called Ginan was in July 2022 (version 1.5), that implements a new approach to multi-GNSS PPP where the raw GNSS observables are processed in an “undifferenced” way.
Most recently in July 2023, the Ginan team have just released version 2.1 which allows the processing of all available GNSS data in an “undifferenced-uncombined” way making use of all the state space representations to drive uncertainty in the final product down to the centimetre level.
The next release for Ginan (version 3.0) will be delivered in December 2023 and will present performance improvements and greater accuracy.
