Dr Joelle Gergis is a paleoclimatologist whose research is focussed on reconstructing climate over the past 200-2000 years. She is currently (2011) the chief Investigator in the ARC (Australian Research Council)-funded study on "Reconstructing pre-20th century rainfall, temperature and pressure for south-eastern Australia using palaeoclimatie, documentary and early weather station data". Dr Gergis is also the co-leader of the international Past Global Changes (PAGES) working group on Australasian climate variability of the past 2000 years. Dr Gergis studied to obtain her PhD in high-resolution paleaeoclimatology from the University of New South Wales in 2006.User Contributed Tags
