The datasets have been acquired by Geoscience Australia and its State and Territory Government partners. The datasets primarily include processed measurements from relative (not absolute) gravimeters statically positioned on the ground. These ground-based gravity surveys are typically conducted on either semi-regular grids that are typically spaced in the vicinity of 2 to 11 km apart, or along traverses with a higher density of measurements. Ground elevation (digital elevation model), which were acquired incidentally during many of the more recent surveys are also included. The data are processed (non-raw) and are stored in both their fundamental/original form as point-located measurements (point data), as well as in interpolated regular grid (raster) form. The collection has potential applications in a wide range of disciplines including geological mapping, mineral and petroleum resource exploration, groundwater and environmental resource management, soil science, geodesy, and infrastructure planning. This record was harvested by RDA at 2024-02-14T09:51:51.483+11:00 from NCI's Data Catalogue.&rft.creator=Commonwealth of Australia (Geoscience Australia) &rft.date=2022&rft.edition=v1&rft.coverage=northlimit=-9.000500; southlimit=-43.761500; westlimit=112.717500; eastLimit=153.671500&rft.coverage=northlimit=-9.000500; southlimit=-43.761500; westlimit=112.717500; eastLimit=153.671500&rft_rights= https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/&rft_rights=Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License&rft_rights=Licences for datasets within this collection may vary. This sub-collection of the Geoscience Australia Geophysics Reference Data Collection has been compiled by Geoscience Australia from an extensive archive of over 1600 ground-based gravity surveys dating back to 1947.
