Full description

The project, and the Fish Health Section which administers it, was established following a major die-off of trout at the Pemberton Trout hatchery in 1988.

The project will:

* Provide a fish pathology support service to the Fisheries Department and to the fishing industry of Western Australia, primarily the aquaculture industries;
* Carry out translocation testing of hatchery-reared fish, crustaceans and molluscs other than pearl oysters;
* Provide extension activities to members of the public and take a minor teaching role.
