‘Everyday dreamers’ comprise of triathletes who compete at an amateur level, which makes up 90% of triathletes in Australia. Amateur triathletes compete in age group categories, starting with juniors, all the way up to 80-year-old groups, in 5 year groupings.Many people are attracted to triathlon for reasons including the challenging nature of multisport, fun, fitness and the social aspects.
This collection contains personal anecdotes from age group competitors:
• Chris and Kate Vince, (Kate in her 70s at the time) who competed at the 2011 SunSmart IRONMAN held in Busselton, Western Australia
• Vincent Tremaine pushed who through injury and pain to become an Ironman at the 2008 IRONMAN World Championship in Kona, Hawaii
