Ethnographic approach research was conducted in April 2018 at Tsumago Post Town, Nagano, Japan. Twelve local people and tourists were interviewed with further promotional media, photographic, and video documents being collected from Tsumago Post Town during the process along with participant observation notes from tours with guides.

This research was funded by the Sumitomo Foundation.
