Full description
The Environmental Metabolomics: Eucalyptus and Acacia drought and metabolites dataset contains raw and summary data and associated metadata relating to an investigation into the responses to water stress (drought) on gas exchange and metabolites of selected species of Eucalyptus and Acacia.
Seeds of Eucalyptus arenacea, Eucalyptus delegatensis, Eucalyptus nitens, Eucalyptus regnans, Eucalyptus socialis, Acacia maidenii and Acacia.mangium were obtained from the Australian Tree Seed Centre (Kingston, ACT, Australia). Water stress (drought) treatments were administered to the seedlings. Samples from leaf tissue were removed, frozen in liqud nitrogen and stored at -80 Celcius. Metabolites were extracted from the freeze-dried leaf samples using a solution of hot methanol, chloroform and water, and were anaysed by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS).
Details of the treatments, measurement methods and instrument data are available within the Environmental Metabolomics Information System (EMIS) https://emis.sydney.edu.au/. Analytical sample files are stored in NetCDF and .qgd format, and summary files are available in .CSV format. Please refer to the associated journal publication listed below for a full explanation of the data, methods, materials and findings associated with this experiment and dataset.
