Brief description

The Environmental Metabolomics: Acacia aneura water stress PLNT 3001 dataset contains raw and summary data relating to an experiment into the effects of water stress on metabolites and gas exchange of the native Australian shrub Acacia aneura (Mulga).

Water stress (drought) treatments were administered to Acacia aneura seedlings. Metabolites were extracted from samples of freeze-dried leaf tissue using a solution of cold methanol, chloroform and water, and were anaysed using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) techniques.

Further details of the treatments, measurement methods and the resulting instrument data are available within the Environmental Metabolomics Information System (EMIS) https://emis.sydney.edu.au/.  Analytical sample files are stored in NetCDF format, and summary files are available in .CSV format.
