Nuclear Magnetic Resonance data may be used to estimate physical properties such as water content, NMR relaxation time, and porosity of formations penetrated by boreholes. These data were acquired as part of the Exploring for the Future (EFTF) program at field sites within the East Kimberley and Southern Stuart Corridor field areas.Lineage

Statement: Borehole Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) data were acquired at field sites in the East Kimberley, Ti Tree, Tennant Creek and Western Davenport project areas using the Vista Clara Javelin (CPMG) system with JP238 or JP350 probes. Raw data are stored in binary LabVIEW files. These data were processed using proprietary Vista Clara processing software to produce intermediate Matlab data files, which were further processed to estimate formation water content and NMR parameters in diameters of investigation up to 38 centimetres from the probe, at regular 50 centimetre intervals.

PurposeBorehole NMR data are used to characterise aquifer properties in hydrogeological studies.
