Brief description
Dr Fiona Kidd is an Australian Research Council Postdoctoral Fellow, working within the department of Archaeology at the University of Sydney. Dr Kidd specializes in the archaeology and art history of Central Asia, and is currently studying the wall paintings from Kazakl’i-yatkan, which are among the earliest and best preserved in Central Asia. Since 1999 she has been working at the site of Kazakl’i-yatkan in ancient Chorasmia (Uzbekistan) as a member of the collaborative Karakalpak-Australian Expedition to Chorasmia, and is currently the co-field director of the Kazakl’i-yatkan site.
