Pitfall traps were used to capture crabs in seven locations along the east coast of Queensland (Escape River, Claudie River, Morgan River, Endeavour River, Murray River, Hinchinbrook Island and Cape Ferguson) and from the Wenlock River on the western side of Cape York Peninsula.
