Full description
This RCT employed a staggered, parallel-groups design. We recruited 104 participants aged 16-25 years, with emotion dysregulation or emerging BPD symptoms. Participants were randomised to receive DBT at a youth mental health service in Gold Coast, Australia. Conditions included an 8-week DBT-skills training program, or a 16-week intensive program including both individual DBT sessions and the skills training program. Data was collected via online surveys at baseline, 8-weeks, 16-weeks, and 24-weeks follow-up. Mixed effect linear models compared groups on the primary outcome variables of emotion dysregulation and BPD symptoms, and secondary outcomes of suicidal ideation, coping skills, depression, anxiety, and stressIssued: 2023
