Full description
By a Great Britain and Ireland Order in Council of 9 March 1847, leases could be granted to settlers occupying lands beyond the settled districts, subject to certain conditions. Leases had to be renewed annually, and runs had to be described accurately.Each description has been given a running registered number, by which the series is arranged. Each shows: name of run; acreage; number of horses, cattle, sheep, and the valuer's name for each year from 1847-51 inclusive; description of boundaries of run, estimated area, and grazing capabilities.
Descriptions 1-147 are listed (No.70 missing). Following No.135 there are remaining portions of a list of the runs 1-135 in registered number order.
