Research Project
Full description This research will examine the strategic processes and outcomes of data-driven value creation, and will answer two intertwined research questions: What are the mechanisms of data-driven value creation and capture in contemporary organizational contexts? And how can organizations capture and objectively measure analytics-driven value? This research will build on the existing research on the business value of IT literature that has investigated the theoretical link between IT assets and capabilities, and strategic value. The research team will conduct rich case studies to characterize value-creating analytics projects and establish a link between such projects and value at the project level, organizational level, and for customers. The project will follow action research methodology so that researchers engage with and participate in practical analytics projects from a value conceptualization and measurement angle, and to bring change to the host organization.
