Full description
The Cube Globe is an interactive and cinematic display of spatial data visualisations developed in partnership by Queensland University of Technology and the Queensland State Government. The Cube Globe will be delivered first at the 2014 G20 Summit, then utilised to meet future needs of government, industry, schools, and the public. Through state-of-the-art immersive visualisation, animation, and multi-media design, the Cube Globe delivers immense capability for visitors to realise their place in the world, understand what happens around us, and reach understandings of the challenges and opportunities the world faces now and into the future.
Through an array of stories, The Globe will present rich graphics of the Earth combined with data visualisations, 3D models, and integrated multimedia across the Cube walls, 7 days a week, 12 hours a day.
The spatial data sets are drawn from agriculture, construction, culture, education, tourism, resources and science sectors. The visualisation platform at this scale will be a world-first and lay a path forward for many other spatial information applications at The Cube.
