Full description

From May to October 1998 a set of 14 broad-band instruments were deployed through the Kimberley region, crossing both the King Leopold and Halls Creek fold belts and the interior of the block including the remote northern region (fig 1). The instruments deployed in 1998 (KB) indicated by filled symbols were placed to improve the coverage from the 1997 deployment (KA) shown as open symbols and the stations in the SK3 and SK6 legs of the SKIPPY experiment indicated in grey. The object of this study is to try to characterise this complex region, where very little geophysical investigation has been carried out on crustal and larger scales.
