Comparative wave climate characterization of a wave energy site with a recently developed low-cost wave buoy (Spotter), ADCP and pressure loggers

Research Project

Full description The University of Queensland, in collaboration with Wave Swell Energy Limited, undertook a comparative study of different wave measurement devices at King Island, Tasmania in 2019. The principal aims of the project was both to characterize the wave climate at the site, and also to compare the wave measurements as measured by three independent devices, a Sofar Ocean Spotter buoy, Teledyne RDI ADCP, and two RBR pressure loggers.
