Brief description

Diver Based Sampling (LTM)
ROV
BRUVS
Grab Samples

A biological survey expedition to Scott Reef in December 1999 providing information on the benthic and demersal fish communities found in the deeper areas of South Scott Reef lagoon and benthic communities in North Scott Reef lagoon.

Lineage

Maintenance and Update Frequency: notPlanned
Statement: Work in North Scott used 3 AIMS dive teams, supported from the RV Dorado and MV Kimberley Quest and focused on shallow water benthic communities which were sampled by the divers using hand held under water cameras. Sampling in South Scott lagoon used more diverse methods and focused on both the benthic communities and the demersal fish communities. In South Scott lagoon the benthic communities were sampled using divers, ROVs and grabs, while fish communities were sampled using BRUVS. In all 199 ROV video transects and 112 BRUV deployments were completed successfully.
