This series contains files which document the appointment of individuals to Wages Boards and, from 1981 to 1992, Conciliation and Arbitration Boards.

Members of these various Boards were appointed annually by the Governor-in-Council and, after changes to the Industrial Relations Act 1979, by the Industrial Relations Commission. Individuals were nominated by the respective recognised employer and employee associations and were required to sign a statutory declaration stating that the individual was eligible for appointment under the provisions established in the Act.

A separate file was created for each Board. Files contain nomination and appointment documentation as well as the statutory declaration. It is unclear if similar files existed prior to 1950.

This series ended in 1992 after the abolition of Conciliation and Arbitration Boards by the Employee Relations Act 1992.
