This data set contains original behavioural and electroencephalography data for 28 neurotypical, young human adults of both sexes. Participants were presented with a stream of visual displays at the centre of computer screen comprising differently oriented sinusoidal gratings. They task was to monitor for occasional changes in spatial frequence. On some trials, a stream of unrelated, task-irrelevant pure sounds was played from a small speaker positioned at the screen centre concurrently with the visual stream.
